Disney World Snow White News

Disney Parks Blog announced that Artists Point at the Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to become a Snow White themed character meal this winter!  Guests will get to meet Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey and the Evil Queen.   While finding Snow White is not that hard in a Disney Park, finding the dwarfs is not easy and usually requires a special event.  This is a great opportunity for Snow White fans!  No word on actually dates yet, but be sure to keep an eye out!

Hallmark and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

July 14 and 15 marked the Christmas Ornament premiere weekend at Hallmark.  I went in to get one Grumpy and Dopey  ornament and was surprised to find they have two Snow White and the Seven Dwarf ornaments this year!  (Last year they had a precious moments ornament)

The Dopey and Grumpy in the mine cart plays Heigh Ho and the gems actually light up!  This ornament is so well done!  It retails at 22.99.

Hallmark also premiered a Snow White with her forest friends.  She is lovely and part of a high quality line that has a different style box.  The box is specifically marked to celebrate the 80th anniversary.  She retails at 29.99.

Finding Snow White on the Disney Dream

A few weeks ago I took a magical trip on the Disney Dream!  The ship was much larger than the one Disney ship I've been on (the Wonder).  While I was exploring the ship I found a few Snow White nods that I was excited to find.

This art is found outside of the Bibbity Bobbity Boo Boutique.  I did notice the art changed on Pirate night.

This art can be found in the stairwell.  A good blogger would have noted which floor and which staircase the art can be found - sadly, this blogger was so excited to be on the ship, she did record any of that!  If you know it's location, please leave me a note!

I had a unique opportunity to play in the Oceaneers lab during our cruise and the hand washing station (which is awesome!) features mirrors inspired by Disney's most famous mirror.

The club also had art around the room in mirror frames.

The Royal Place had a lot of art featuring our favorite princess - I was impressed by how well she was represented.

These two pieces can be found in the hallway on the way to Animator's Palette restaurant.

Inside the restaurant there were so many different things to look at - I'm sure there were many things around I missed - but I did find this Grumpy on a serving station.

One of the stage shows- Villains tonight - featured the Queen - I caught it later on the stateroom TV.

  

 I wish I had more time to wander the ship.  There are so many magical touches all over.  One thing I was sad to learn was that the nightly chocolates no longer feature Sleepy!  Won't stop me from taking another cruise though!

Hallmark Items

It was my birthday last month and my dad found me the perfect card!

I went to Hallmark to find another, but I didn't find the card in my Hallmark. I did find these mugs though.

I really like the Disney Line that Hallmark has.  I hope to see more Snow White and Dwarfs!

Jakks Series 2 - complete Snow White set

It is entirely possible that I have been going into Walmart, Target, and Toys-R-Us way to much lately.  However, my persistence has paid off because I was able to find all 5 of the Snow White characters that have been released in series 2.  I was so excited last week when I was given a Snow White and now I have Happy and all three sizes of Grumpy.  Check out these cuties!

Jakks Tsum Tsum Series 2

When I went to the D23 expo I was thrilled to see adorable mini stacking tsum tsums and I asked if Snow White was one of the characters.  She wasn't in series 1 but I have just found out that series 2 features her, Grumpy, and Happy!  This set came from a Toys R Us and I am feeling that there will be a few more trips in the future for me!

Here is the opened package. Sven was in the blind bag.  I was so excited when I got these, I didn't think to take a picture before I opened it.  Grumpy is pictured on the package (he is blocked by Eeyore in this picture).

The large size Snow White (number 203)

Snow White is only available in the large size, Happy is only available in the medium size (205), but Grumpy is in all three sizes (small 207, medium 208, an large 209).

Grumpy's Model

I have written before about Marge Champion, the young lady who worked as a model for Snow White, but have you heard about Grumpy's model?  While not quite the same, there are references to  a Disney character in early descriptions of Grumpy.  This guy:

This is Santa's secretary in the 1932 Silly Symphony "Santa's Workshop."  When watching him, you can see many scenes of his furrowed brow that reminds me distinctly of Grumpy.   There is another connection: Grumpy and the secretary are both voiced by the one and only Pinto Colvig.
