Disney Movie Rewards

A while ago I finally decided to spend a few of my Disney Movie Rewards points on an exclusive poster by Eric Tan.  The package came and I am so glad I got this poster.  It is really beautify and printed on really high quality paper.  I already framed the print and am looking forward to finding somewhere to hang it.

Disney Movie Rewards Exclusive Poster and Studio Tour

Disney Movie Rewards allows you to earn points when you purchase movies, some music, and when you see movies in theaters.  (They recently changed the rules so only CDs bought on the Disney Music Emporium site are eligible for points.)  Generally you earn 50 points when you see a movie in the theater, 100 for a DVD, and 150 for a Blu-ray.  With these points, you can redeem items.  On occasion, there are exclusive items available.  The first one I ever saw was back in 2009.  It was a Snow White and Seven Dwarfs ornament for 975 points.  Then in 2011 there was a keepsake box for 975 points and in 2012 a Snow White Apron was offered for 1,000 points.  In 2014, there was a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Pin for 900 points.  As far as I know, these have been the only Snow White exclusive items offered...until now.  There is currently an exclusive poster with art by Eric Tan available for 1250 points.

You may have noticed down at the bottom of my screen shot that I have 14,160 points.  Back in 2009 I wondered if I should keep saving points for the studio tour or if I should redeem for Snow White items.  I've decided to do both.  I will redeem points for one of these posters and very soon, I will be able to get the tour.  In 2009, the tour was 20,000 points.  It seems that the points were lowered to 15,000 points at some point, but I don't remember when.  If I had never redeemed any points, I would be at 17,885.

However, I recently noticed the the rewards website started offering 3 different tour levels with new point levels: Silver, Gold, and Platinum.  I did a comparison of the levels to help me decided which one I want to go for.

So now, I have to decide if I want to keep saving up for the Platinum or Gold tour, or if I should use my points on the Silver tour.  If I'm going for Gold I only need 92 trips to the theater, 46 more DVDs, or 31 Blu-Rays.  Platinum will take 242 trips to the theater, 121 DVD, or 81 Blu-Rays.

What are your thoughts?  What would you do?

Disney Movie Rewards Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Pin

Almost a month ago, I found out that Disney Movie Rewards program was releasing a limited edition pin (check out my previous post here.)  I received my pin in the mail a few days ago.  I'm quite impressed with card in came on, it's a nice touch and makes it more exclusive to the Disney Movie Rewards Program.

Disney Movie Rewards

Back in October of last year, Disney Movie Rewards offered a limited edition Snow White keepsake box for 975 points.  The quality of the box is not that impressive up close, but the only way to get it is by using points from the rewards program.  A few years back they offered an ornament exclusive featuring Snow White and the Seven Dwarf.  Aurora and Rapunzel are available now on the website.

Disney Movie Rewards Snow White Ornament

Today I received my Snow White 2009 Limited Edition Ornament from the Disney Rewards Club. I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly it came. The ornament features each dwarf in a wreath with Snow White dangling in the middle. It is not particularly expensive looking but it was a reasonable amount of points. The back of Snow White says "Disney Movie Rewards Limited Edition 750 2009"

I look forward to getting more rewards over time. I have been very impressed with the efforts the club has been making of late. Many of the emails have bonus point scavenger hunts. Sometimes it is just a matter of reading to the bottom of the email and other times there are very simple hunts where you watch video clips or find clues on various movie websites. Additionally, the club is offering a contest to give away prizes from peoples wish lists and will offer double bonus point days! Bravo Disney Movie Rewards!
