They made the Magic: Webb Smith

Smith started out as Ted Sear's assistant and later moved into the story department.  Smith is credited by Walt Disney himself with being the guy who started the story board method.  He is said to have drawn out each scene individually and pinned on a bulletin board (hence storyboard).
Smith is also known for writing the sequence where Pluto get stuck the to flypaper that was animated by Norm Ferguson in 1934 Playful Pluto.
Smith was one of the storymen who joined Walt Disney on the South American Goodwill Tour.  His story ideas were rich with gags and good humor.
His career with Disney was short as he passed away in the mid to late 1940's.

Finding Snow White at the D23 Expo 2013

My goodness this blog post is late!  I'm sure everyone has read all about the D23 expo, so I will keep this post focused on our girl.

There wasn't much Snow White related at the expo this year.  There was no expo exclusive merchandise with Snow White for sale: my pocket book was quite happy, but the collector in me was quite grumpy.  There was, however, one button featuring Happy and Grumpy that was given out after the Legends ceremony.  There were other characters featured on these variety of these buttons handed out, but check out the boys on Pin Pics (#97810).  In the Mickey's of Glendale, guests had an opportunity to purchase pin sets (LE 2000) from Walt Disney Imagineering featuring the New Fantasyland construction fence art for the Seven Dwarf Mine Train attraction.  There were five of them for sale, check them out on Pin Pics (#98393-98397).

 And that was about it!  I'm not confident that I found every Snow White reference in the expo this year, so if you know I missed one, I'd be glad to hear!

WDW Radio Ornament Exchange

This year I participated in the WDW Radio Holiday Ornament Exchange.  What a fun idea.  I received a family to mail an ornament to, and then received one from another family in the mail.  Who doesn't love getting any mail that isn't a bill, let alone a wonderful holiday gift?
I was so excited to open the box and find two, homemade Snow White ornaments from a lovely family in Florida!  Check these out!  Such a creative idea.
